Bylaws & Governance

Bylaws are legal documents passed by Council under the authority of the Municipal Government Act. These bylaws establish regulations for governance, land use, public safety, municipal services, and administrative roles.

  • FIRE CONTROL BYLAW #277-26 - Regulates fire safety, burning activities, and fire protection cost recovery.
  • FIRE PROTECTION TAX BYLAW #280-26 - Establishes a special property tax to recover the annual cost of municipal fire protection services.
  • ​GOLF CART PILOT PROJECT BYLAW #269-25 – Regulates golf cart permits and operation on designated municipal roads.

  • MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION BYLAW #273-25 – Establishes the Municipal Planning Commission and its authority. 
  • NOISE CONTROL BYLAW #287-26 – Regulates unreasonable noise to help protect the peaceful enjoyment of the community.
  • ​PARKING, STORAGE AND TRAFFIC CONTROL BYLAW #252-20 – Regulates parking, vehicle storage, and traffic safety.

  • PROPERTY TAXATION BYLAW #281-26 – Authorizes the annual municipal property tax levy.
  • PUBLIC NOTIFICATION BYLAW #278-26 - Establishes public notice requirements for municipal decisions and bylaws.
  • ROCHON SANDS BAY BEACH WALKWAY VEHICLE RESTRICTION BYLAW #285-26 - Prohibits unauthorized motorized vehicles on the Rochon Sands Bay beach walkway while allowing emergency, municipal, authorized contractor, and mobility-aid use.
  • ​SUBDIVISION AUTHORITY BYLAW #229-17 – Establishes the municipality's Subdivision Authority.
  • ​SUBDIVISION AND DEVELOPMENT APPEAL BOARD - SVRS-RDC BYLAW #283-26 – Establishes the appeal process for subdivision and development decisions through the Red Deer County Subdivision and Development Appeal Board.
  • TAX INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLAN BYLAW #267-24 – Establishes the municipal tax installment payment program.
  • TAX PENALTY BYLAW #266-24 – Establishes penalties for overdue property taxes.
