🔥 Fire Response Costs & Insurance
                             - What Residents Need to Know

The Summer Village of Rochon Sands receives fire and rescue services through a regional fire services agreement with the County of Stettler No. 6 (Heartland Regional Fire).
How the system works (in plain language)
✅ If the Fire Department responds, the Summer Village is invoiced for the response.

✅ Under the Summer Village Fire Protection Bylaw (Bylaw 277-26), the municipality may then recover applicable fire protection charges from the landowner/occupant or responsible party, depending on the circumstances.
Fire Protection Bylaw 277-26
Why we’re sharing this
Fire response can involve significant costs depending on the incident and resources required. We want residents to be informed and protected.
Action requested: call your insurance agent
Residents are strongly encouraged to confirm their insurance includes coverage for firefighting response costs / fire department charges and to understand their coverage limit.
Ask your insurance agent:
  • Does my policy cover fire department response charges billed in relation to my property?
  • What is the maximum coverage limit?
  • What deductible applies?
  • Is wildfire/grassfire suppression included?
  • What is my liability limit if a fire spreads?
