​Narrows Provincial Recreation Area

​Narrows Provincial Recreation Area is a scenic and nature-oriented campground located on the south shore of Buffalo Lake in the Summer Village of Rochon Sands. This area is popular with bird watchers, anglers, and campers looking for a quiet, rustic experience.

​Camping at The Narrows

​The campground offers a variety of unsupervised, first-come-first-serve campsites, ideal for tenting and all sizes of trailers.
The Narrows Provincial Recreation Area is a beautiful provincial park that suits bird watchers, anglers, and nature lovers.  It is one of the older provincial parks and many of its sites are suitable for tenting and small to mid-sized trailers.  There are only a small handful of sites that will accommodate larger sized trailers (32'+).  ​

Camping Information

  • The sites are all First-Come-First-Serve and self-registration only.
  • The Narrows has 59 individual sites and 1 group site, all which are UNSERVICED. 
  • Pit toilets, a hand pump for non-potable water, and dumpsters are available, but there is no sani-dump station. 
  • Please have cash or cheque for the envelopes or you can now pay online via OptionPay. Under "Type" please choose "Narrows PRA Camping Fees..." and fill in all of the required information.  
  • ​The campground is open to camp from the May long-weekend to Thanksgiving (weather dependent-on the closure date).

​Campground Rules

​Please follow all posted campground rules during your stay, including:
  • Camp only in designated sites
  • Keep pets leashed and under control
  • Respect quiet hours
  • Clean your site before departure

​There are no advance reservations for The Narrows — campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Payment Methods:
  • Cash or cheque via self-registration envelopes on site
  • OptionPay — select “Narrows PRA Camping Fee” and enter the required information to pay online

The Summer Village of Rochon Sands administers both Rochon Sands Provincial Park and The Narrows Provincial Recreation Area which are located on the south shores of Buffalo Lake.  Both campgrounds are managed on-site by campsite managers and are monitored for the safety and enjoyment of our guests.
