​Who operates the campgrounds at Rochon Sands and The Narrows?

​The Summer Village of Rochon Sands operates both Rochon Sands Provincial Park and The Narrows Provincial Recreation Area under an operating agreement with the Province of Alberta.
Both campgrounds are managed by campground staff during the operating season.

​When are the campgrounds open?

​Both campgrounds are generally open from May Long Weekend to Thanksgiving, weather permitting.
Opening and closing dates may vary depending on seasonal conditions.

​How do I make a campsite reservation?

​Reservations for Rochon Sands Provincial Park are made through the campground’s online reservation system during the reservation season.

​The Narrows Provincial Recreation Area operates on a first-come, first-served basis and does not accept advance reservations.

​Do I need a fishing licence to fish at Buffalo Lake?

​During designated Family Fishing Weekends (such as Family Day Weekend), a provincial sport-fishing licence is not required.
At all other times, anglers must comply with Alberta fishing regulations, including licensing requirements.

​Are the campgrounds serviced?

Most campsites at both campgrounds are non-serviced.
Limited powered sites are available at Rochon Sands Provincial Park.
Non-potable water, pit toilets, and waste disposal facilities are provided.
Potable water station is available in Rochon Sands.

​Are generators allowed?

​Generators are permitted where noted, but must be operated only during permitted hours and in a manner that does not disturb other campers.
Quiet hours are enforced in accordance with campground rules.

​What payment methods are accepted?

​Accepted payment methods may include:
  • Online payments through the reservation system (where applicable)
  • OptionPay for certain campground fees
  • Cash or cheque for self-registration sites
Payment options are outlined on each campground’s page.

​What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellation and refund policies vary depending on:
  • campground location,
  • site type (individual or group),
  • and notice period.
Detailed policies are posted on the campground and fees pages.
Refunds are not provided for advisories such as weather, fire bans, water quality, or wildlife activity.

Are pets allowed in the campgrounds?

​Pets are permitted but must be leashed at all times and under control.
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and ensuring they do not disturb other campers or wildlife.

​Where can I find campground rules and maps?

​Campground rules, maps, and site information are available on:
  • the individual campground pages, and
  • Alberta Parks reference links where applicable.
Visitors are expected to follow all posted rules and signage.

​Who do I contact if I have questions or concerns during my stay?

​During the operating season, campground staff are available on-site to assist.
