Temporary Dock Storage Accommodation (2026)
INTRODUCTION / WHY THIS IS HAPPENING
Due to unusually low water levels on Buffalo Lake during the 2026 season, some residents may be unable to install seasonal docks and mooring structures.
Under the Summer Village of Rochon Sands Piers, Docks, and Boat Lifts Policy, docks and mooring structures are intended to be seasonal structures and are not permitted to be stored on Municipal Reserve (MR) or Environmental Reserve (ER) lands during the summer months.
Residents are advised that docks, boat lifts, and related mooring structures will not be permitted to remain stored on:
To assist residents affected by current lake conditions, Council has approved a temporary dock storage accommodation area at the east end of the Marina Parking Lot for the 2026 season only.
Boat docks/lifts must be removed from public beach areas, MR & ER lands by the end of May - early June at the latest.

- must be clearly labelled with the owner’s name and contact information;
- must be placed only within the designated storage area assigned by Administration;
- must not interfere with parking, drainage, emergency access, maintenance, or municipal operations;
- remain entirely at the owner’s risk; and
- must be removed no later than October 15, 2026 unless otherwise authorized by Administration.
The Summer Village reserves the right to require relocation or removal of any stored materials at any time.

- assumes no responsibility for theft, vandalism, weather damage, deterioration, or loss;

- may remove, relocate, store, or dispose of materials not removed as directed.
