This page provides information on household waste, recycling, and disposal services available to residents of the Summer Village of Rochon Sands.
Household Garbage
Household garbage generated within the Summer Village of Rochon Sands may be disposed of in the designated waste disposal bins located in the Rochon Sands Community Hall parking lot, adjacent to the tennis courts.
These bins are intended for residential household waste only.
Construction, renovation, commercial, and large-volume waste is not accepted at this location.
Recycling
Recycling facilities are available to residents at the Rochon Sands Community Hall parking lot, adjacent to the tennis courts.
A bottle recycling bin is provided at this location. Proceeds from bottle recycling support the local community, and residents are encouraged to use this bin for eligible beverage containers.
A cardboard recycling bin is also available at this location for clean, flattened cardboard.
All other recycling materials, including containers, specialty recyclables, and regulated items, must be taken to a County of Stettler transfer site.
Transfer Station / Disposal Site
Materials not accepted in the local waste, bottle recycling, or cardboard recycling bins must be taken to a County of Stettler transfer site.
County transfer sites accept a range of materials, including additional recyclables, construction and demolition waste, household hazardous waste, batteries, and other regulated items, subject to County rules and requirements.
Prohibited Materials
The following materials are not accepted in the local waste, bottle recycling, or cardboard recycling bins located at the Community Hall parking lot.
- Construction and demolition materials
- Renovation or commercial waste
- Household hazardous waste and chemicals
- Batteries and electronic waste
- Large or bulky items
These materials must be taken to a County of Stettler transfer site in accordance with County requirements.
